The Bellows Restaurant, Botrivier
Dining in historical restaurants is always a treat when on the road, If you turn off the highway N2 to the quant village of Botrivier, you'll find the Bellows Restaurant. The town with its interesting transport history, had settlers travelling through the Houw Hoek Valley, over the Hottentots Holland Mountains to get to Botrivier to trade with the local tribes.
The old ox wagon route stretched through the valley to Botrivier and at this encampment people came not only to trade, but have their wagon wheels fixed. Here blacksmiths with huge bellows had to mend many a wagon wheel. The fertile valley with its fat cattle had to still hungers too.
In the tradition of the blacksmith, bellows and good food, We welcome you to Bellows Restaurant, with it simple good food and traditional memorabilia from a bygone era forming the backbone of the decor.
Come and taste our pork belly ribs, steaks and homemade burgers. We serve Sunday luncheons and we cater for any event or function, no matter how big or small. Come and taste some of the local wines and sleep over.
