BotHot launches this Thursday, 27th of October, 2011!
After extensive renovations, the Botrivier Hotel will be celebrating our official re-opening from the 27th to the 30th October, 2011. We have a fun-filled programme that is sure to appeal to everyone's taste. We offer a selection of events, ranging from arts & culture to action packed mountain biking, good food and live music. We also offer comfortable accommodation at affordable rates, so that you don't have to drive home.
Thursday, 27th of October: Bots, Barrels and Bellows art exhibition
Our exciting programme kicks off on the 27th of October with a local art exhibition titled: 'Bot, barrels & bellows' which will be showcased in the Botrivier hotel, restaurant & cellar
Friday, 28th of October: Klavier, Klippies & Kultuur
On Friday, the 28th of October, we will be having a culture filled evening with our 'Piano in the bar' show. Sit back and relax in our quirky local bar with a drink and enjoy the performance with us.
Saturday, 29th of October: Mountain Bike, Fun-run, Barrel Race, Spitbraai & Jesse Jordan
Saturday is full of action-packed events in Botrivier! We kick-off at 7h00 AM with the 7th annual Botrivier van der Stel Pass Challenge offering a 15km, 36km and a 57km mountain bike event, a 21km and a 10km run/walk and a 5km fun-run. The events are organized by the Botrivier Education Foundation (BEF), a non-profit and totally voluntary association aimed at improving education in our beautiful country. The events start and finish at the historic Botrivier Station and winds along the breath-taking van der Stel pass, over lands and farms not normally open to the public. The 4th Annual Botrivier Barrel Race
At 12h00 on Saturday, it is time to make way for the 4th annual Botrivier Barrel Race as we watch barrel racing teams make the mad dash to the finish line. The winning team gets to take home a wine-barrel to the value of R7,500! For more information, please visit www.botriverwines.co.za.
Curry Cup Final
After all the exhilaration of the day, it is time to move over to the Botrivier Hotel to watch the curry cup final that starts at 17h00. Guess the score and win a 1.5 litre Jake White Magnum Wildekrans bottle of wine!
Rock-&-Roll Spitbraai
With the rugby sure to leave you hungry, we then offer a Rock-&-Roll Spitbraai that starts at 18h00. For only R85, you get a traditional Skaap 'spit-braai', with botterskorsies, aartappel slaai, uie, groenslaai en brood!
At 21h00 we open up the dance-floor with a spectacular local Rock-&-Roll talent, the Jesse Jordan Band, who will be promoting their newest album, World Piece. Ticket prices for the show are R35 per person. Combine it with the spitbraai and pay only R110!
