The Black Cat Bones

Akkedis & The Black Cat Bones live at the Botrivier Hotel, 16 December

We kick-off this holiday season at the Botrivier Hotel on Friday 16 December with spectacular local talents, Akkedis and the Black Cat Bone.

The story of Akkedis starts early in the Nineties, when twins Arthur and Rudi Dennis did their millitary duty in Youngsfield, South Africa. Although they played guitar and drums at an early age, they started working together at this military air force base (probably to kill time as well!). This led to their first duo appearance in a small establishment in Melkbos-strand under the name Dennis Brothers. Since then Akkedis has released three records. Join us at the Botrivier Hotel on 16 December when they launch their fourth album ...

From the Silverton Swamps in the Far East of Pretoria comes Black Cat Bone. Born from a Muddy Waters lyric and raised amongst the patriot gators of the SA music industry, BCB plays a fused selection of Deep South Rock and Hoodoo Blues.

As Koos Kombuis puts it in the Raport:
" .... luister mens na hierdie manne se CD is daar iets wat opval: anders as baie nuwe rock groepe keer die Black Cat Bones, soos die Sex Pistols terug na die outydse Rock 'n Roll Resep... "
